Everything you need to know about Roborio - the decentralized robot rental marketplace on Solana.
Current status: Roborio is in active development. A marketplace MVP demo is live, and the on-chain escrow protocol is deployed on Solana devnet. Rentals settle in SOL today. The $ROBORIO token, USDC payments, staking, and governance are planned and not yet live. Items marked (planned) below are not yet available.
1. Overview
Roborio is the first decentralized marketplace for robot rentals built on Solana blockchain. We connect robot operators with businesses needing automation, enabling flexible, on-demand access to robotic services.
Key Features:
- Flexible pricing: per-task, per-minute, or per-kilometer
- Payment in SOL today; USDC and $ROBORIO payments (with discount) planned
- Smart contract escrow for secure transactions
- Real-time tracking and monitoring
- Transparent rating system
2. Getting Started
For Businesses (Renters)
- Connect Your Wallet - Use Phantom, Solflare, or any Solana-compatible wallet
- Browse Robots - Filter by type, location, pricing, and availability
- Select & Book - Choose your robot and rental duration
- Pay & Deploy - Payment is held in escrow until task completion
- Track & Verify - Monitor robot performance in real-time
- Rate & Review - Help others by leaving feedback
For Operators (Providers)
- Register Your Robot - Submit robot specifications and certifications
- Set Pricing - Choose per-task, per-minute, or per-km pricing
- List on Marketplace - Make your robot available for rent
- Accept Bookings - Receive automated notifications
- Complete Tasks - Robot performs the work
- Get Paid - Automatic settlement via smart contracts
3. How It Works
The Three-Layer Architecture
Layer 1: Physical Robots
- Delivery robots for last-mile logistics
- Cleaning robots for commercial spaces
- Security robots for patrol and monitoring
- Inspection drones for infrastructure
- Warehouse AGVs for automation
Layer 2: Pricing Engine
- Per-task: Fixed price for specific jobs
- Per-minute: Time-based rental
- Per-km: Distance-based pricing
Layer 3: Blockchain Platform
- Smart contracts for escrow and payments
- Real-time tracking via IoT integration
- Transparent rating and review system
- REST API for third-party integration
4. Pricing Models
Per-Task Pricing
Fixed price for completing a specific job. Best for: package delivery, security patrols, one-time cleaning.
Example: Deliver 10 packages = 5 SOL flat fee
Per-Minute Pricing
Pay only for the time the robot is actively working. Best for: flexible tasks, variable durations.
Example: Floor cleaning @ 0.1 SOL/minute
Per-Kilometer Pricing
Pay based on distance traveled. Best for: delivery, patrol routes, inspection.
Example: Security patrol @ 2 SOL/km
Payment Discount (planned): Once the $ROBORIO token launches, paying in $ROBORIO is planned to give up to 20% off rentals. Today all rentals settle in SOL.
5. $ROBORIO Token (Planned)
Not yet live. The $ROBORIO token has not launched. The utilities below describe intended functionality that becomes available once the token goes live (see roadmap, Q1 2026).
Planned Utility
- Discount - Up to 20% off robot rentals when paying in $ROBORIO
- Staking Rewards - Earn rewards; staking also unlocks operator priority listing
- Governance - Vote on platform upgrades
- Priority Access - Early booking for high-demand robots
Tokenomics (Coming Soon)
Supply and allocation details will be announced when the token launches. Fair launch with transparent allocation and no presale.
Buy-Back & Burn (planned)
The team intends to use a portion of platform fees to buy back $ROBORIO from the market and burn it, reducing supply over time. This mechanism is a stated intention and is not yet implemented.
6. API Integration
Integrate Roborio into your own systems via our REST API. Perfect for:
- E-commerce platforms (automated delivery)
- Facility management systems (cleaning & security)
- Warehouse management (logistics automation)
API Documentation: Full API docs will be available after marketplace launch. Stay tuned!
